Summer After the Fire treats exposure as a threshold, not a memory. Some seed only opens at a fixed temperature. What follows is not recovery. It is the first thing to grow once the temperature was reached.
The edition moves in five parts: from observation, through constructed identity and an invented mythology, to the offering and the crossing beyond it.
